Dear all former “Sister Sister” fans,
I brushed elbows with Tia Mowry backstage at a taping of Nate Berkus this afternoon (Deborah was on the show, too), and I am here to tell you that she is even more beautiful in real life. And adorable. And funny. And personable.
As for Nate, who knows. I didn’t see him off camera. But I did try to steal his black car, which is a big No No as far as his driver is concerned.
Me: “Who are you waiting for?”
Russian Driver: “Nate Berkus.”
Me: “Right, like someone from the show? Did Spencer schedule you? Are you waiting for Alainna or Debo-”
Russian Driver: “Nate! Berkus! The man! Not for you!”
Me: “Oh, right …. Psych!” (runs away)
What a day. I will say that it filled me with happiness to see a few dozen Today Show fans gathered around Hoda and Kathie Lee this morning in Rock Center. I don’t know if I felt a sense of pride for living in New York or a sense of appreciation for people shameless enough to gather around the corner of an NBC building with a few onlooking and armed security guards (I personally love Today more than anything on television); but whatever it was, it set the tone for a happy day despite my congestion and headaches. Gotta love the big apple.
